Postpartum Doula

Welcoming a new baby is a magical time, but it can also be overwhelming. The support you receive sets the tone for parenting moving forward. Thats why every family deserves support during this special transition. I have been called a baby whisperer and I love helping you learn the secret language of your baby while supporting your recovery and transition in to parenthood.

  • My goal is to help parents cope with common postpartum issues such as lack of sleep, anxiety, an the newness of a newborn that can bring doubt. Having a kind ear to listen and also help determine what is or is not normal can alleviate a lot of stress.

  • As a postpartum doula I have helped a lot of newborns breast and bottle feed. Often there are very simple adjustments I can help with. Learning to lay down and nurse is an advanced yet important position for resting and relaxing. I am aware of my scope of practice and also when to call in a lactation consultant.

  • Postpartum doulas help with newborn care tasks such as bathing, diapering, feeding, and soothing. Baby wearing is also a wonderful way to soothe a newborn.

  • The nourishment for new parents is crucial for healing, milk supply and emotional regulation. As a doula, I can help with meal prep, shopping, cooking and making sure the family is well nourished.

  • Doing baby’s laundry, washing bottles, tidying up after baby’s first bath. Cooking and going to the grocery store are all important things for a household to run smoothly with a newborn in the house.

  • I provide sibling care, help with playtime, give your older children some attension they might need. As a postpartum doula I also provide support to partners. Helping partners adjust to their new role as a parent and offer guidance on how to best support the birthing parent and to support themselves.

  • Sometimes an overnight doula is necessary to get back on track and reset. I can provide overnights with an 8 hour minimum. As a doula, I bring you your hungry baby to breastfeed or I give your baby a bottle as you can sleep and pump when you need to.

  • I listen to the ways you need more nourishment, laughter or books. Boulder hs filled with a network of amazing practitioners and we all work together as a team. I am here to help you brainstorm what you are needing day by day.
